PerTronix VW Ignition Module, Ignitor II, 034 Style Vacuum Advance Distributor
This PerTronix electronic ignition module is designed to replace the mechanical points and condenser units in 034 style vacuum advance distributors. With a simple two wire connection to the coil this electronic points module eliminates the adjustment and failure of arching mechanical points and removes the need for a condenser mounted to the side of the distributor. Electronic points provide a reliable and high voltage signal to the coil. Designed for vehicles that use a 12V DC electrical charging system.
The Ignitor II has many of the same great features that the Ignitor has, but even more. The Ignitor II units sense the coil current level and use a powerful micro controller to adjust the dwell. Variable dwell helps to maintain peak energy throughout the entire RPM range. Ignitor II systems develop significantly more energy between 3000 and 5000 RPM than standard ignition systems. High RPM performance is improved when used with the Flame-Thrower II super low resistance (0.6 ohms) 45,000 volt coils.
Installation Note: This ignition module can only be used on vehicles that have been converted to 12V DC and WILL NOT work on early vehicles that are still using 6V DC. Cannot be used with coils that have a resistance rating below 3 Ohms. Damage can occur if the key is left in the ON position without the engine running. Connecting this module backwards will burn up this module the second voltage is applied please use caution and pay attention when connecting.
