VW Brake Line, 660mm, Steel
Air-cooled Volkswagens originally utilized steel brake lines, essential components in the braking system that transmit hydraulic pressure to the wheels. However, steel is susceptible to corrosion, especially in humid environments, leading to leaks and compromised braking performance. Over time, age and wear further deteriorate these lines, causing brittleness, internal blockages, and increased risk of failure. To ensure safety and reliable braking, it's crucial to regularly inspect brake lines and replace any corroded or damaged ones promptly. Upgrading to more corrosion-resistant materials like stainless steel can significantly improve the longevity and reliability of the braking system. These steel brake lines may arrive straight or bent and are bend-to-fit. Volkswagen utilized a M10-1.0 bubble flared for all rubber brake hoses and metal brake lines.

Fittings: Male M10-1.0 Bubble Flare/Male M10-1.0 Bubble Flare
Installation Note: WARNING! It is extremely important that brake lines/hoses be installed by a trained mechanic. Proper length of each line/hose in relation to wheel travel and steering angle is critical to avoid brake failure. Equally important is brake lines/hoses must be free flowing and have no contamination. Additionally, all calipers/wheel cylinders must be bled properly. Do not attempt brake line/hose installation without the experience to properly evaluate all of these issues. Pre-soak your old metal line connections with a good penetrating oil to aid in removal. Use a brake line bender to help form the shape needed for installation. It is not suggested to bend these lines by hand without a proper bender this can cause kinks in the line.
